Inside & Around

What\'s Inside

The towers are just the beginning. The KLCC precinct is a self-contained world of shopping, culture, nature, science, and extraordinary food.

Inside the KLCC precinct — shopping, parks, and attractions

Suria KLCC Shopping

The six-level mall at the towers' base is a retail wonderland housing over 350 stores. International fashion houses (Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Chanel) share space with beloved Malaysian brands and artisan craft shops. The mall's lower levels host Southeast Asia's largest Kinokuniya bookstore and a comprehensive electronics zone. Whether you're hunting for luxury goods or Malaysian batik textiles, Suria KLCC delivers an experience that easily fills half a day of exploration.

Food & Dining Scene

Forget the stereotypical mall food court — KLCC's dining scene is extraordinary. The Suria food courts serve authentic Penang char kway teow, Sarawak laksa, and nasi lemak alongside Japanese, Korean, and Thai specialities. For elevated dining, Nobu Kuala Lumpur offers world-class Japanese-Peruvian fusion, while Marini's on 57 serves Italian cuisine with panoramic city views from the 57th floor of the adjacent Menara 3 PETRONAS. Budget approximately MYR 15–25 for a satisfying food court meal or MYR 200+ for fine dining.

Dewan Filharmonik Petronas

Hidden at the base of the towers is one of Asia's finest concert venues — a 920-seat hall with acoustics designed to rival the great European houses. Home to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dewan hosts over 200 performances annually spanning classical symphonies, jazz evenings, world music, and family concerts. Tickets start from MYR 60, making this one of the most affordable world-class concert experiences anywhere. The mahogany-panelled interior is stunning even before the music begins.

Petrosains Science Centre

Spanning two floors of Suria KLCC, this interactive science discovery centre is a hit with families and curious adults alike. The highlights include a dark ride through a simulated offshore oil platform, hands-on physics experiments, a dinosaur exhibition, and digital interactive galleries on renewable energy and space exploration. Allow 2–3 hours for a thorough visit. Adult entry is MYR 33, and the centre attracts over a million visitors annually.

KLCC Park Tropical Garden

Designed by legendary Brazilian landscaper Roberto Burle Marx, this 50-acre park is a genuine tropical paradise at the towers' feet. A 1.3-hectare lake hosts nightly fountain shows (8, 9, and 10 PM; weekends add 7 PM). Jogging paths wind through mature trees including Meranti and Tembusu, and a children's wading pool and playground make it family-friendly. Free entry, open 7 AM–10 PM. Early morning visits offer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds; evening visits deliver spectacular tower-lit atmosphere.

Aquaria KLCC Oceanarium

Beneath the convention centre, a 60,000-square-foot aquarium houses over 5,000 creatures across 150 species. The star attraction is a 90-metre underwater tunnel where sharks and sea turtles glide overhead. Themed zones progress from Malaysian freshwater rivers through mangrove swamps to the open ocean. Feeding times (10:30 AM and 3:00 PM for main tank) are particularly spectacular. Adult tickets are MYR 75, and the facility partners with marine conservation programmes to breed endangered species.
