Discover the
Petronas Twin Towers
Everything you need to explore the tallest twin structures on Earth — from booking your Skybridge tickets to uncovering the fascinating stories of Islamic geometry, audacious engineering, and national pride woven into every floor.

What Makes Them Extraordinary
Four reasons the Petronas Twin Towers remain one of the world\'s must-visit architectural landmarks, decades after their completion.
Skybridge at 170 Metres
Suspended between the two towers at levels 41 and 42, the double-deck Skybridge offers a breathtaking perspective on Kuala Lumpur's urban sprawl stretching toward the Titiwangsa mountain range. The bridge itself is an engineering wonder — a 750-tonne structure that floats on spherical bearings, allowing each tower to sway independently during tropical storms without transmitting forces to its twin.
A Star-Shaped Wonder
Look down from above and each tower reveals its secret: a floor plan shaped like an eight-pointed Islamic star. This is the Rub el Hizb, a sacred geometric motif that architect César Pelli chose to honour Malaysia's Islamic heritage. The geometry is not merely symbolic — it creates more usable floor space than a conventional rectangle while producing the towers' distinctive stepped profile that tapers elegantly toward the sky.
Stainless Steel Shimmer
The towers' 167,000 square metres of cladding combine laminated glass with panels of brushed and polished stainless steel. This surface transforms throughout the day — silvery under morning cloud, golden at sunset, and warmly luminous at night when interior lighting creates twin columns of amber glow. After 25 years of tropical weather, the original cladding remains virtually unblemished.
The Perfect Photo Spot
The KLCC Park reflection pool provides the most iconic ground-level composition, with both towers mirrored symmetrically in the water. For elevated perspectives, the SkyBar at Traders Hotel and the KL Tower observation deck offer unobstructed views. Night photographers will find the Jalan P. Ramlee approach particularly dramatic when the towers are fully illuminated against the tropical sky.
